New ORLEN OIL engine oil for trucks

13.08.2025

The ORLEN OIL lubricant range is expanding with ULTOR EFFECTIVE 5W-20, a low-ash engine oil that meets the demand for low-viscosity products for trucks.

Diesel engine designers face the difficult task of designing efficient and economical engines that simultaneously meet the latest CO2 and NOx emission standards and ensure lower fuel consumption. Modern engines often operate under high loads, which can be damaging to moving parts, so ensuring long-term lubrication under all conditions is crucial.

In recent years, there has been a growing popularity of low-viscosity truck engine oils (such as 0W-XX and 5W-XX), a phenomenon previously unheard of in this segment. According to a report by the Polish Organisation of Oil and Gas Industry (POPiHN), the share of 0W-XX and 5W-XX engine oils in the truck market was 13% in 2022, rising to 15% a year later. Responding to the growing demand for low-viscosity 5W-XX oils, ORLEN OIL has introduced ULTOR EFFECTIVE 5W-20. This synthetic engine oil is approved by MAN M3977 and SCANIA LDF-5. The new lubricant is designed for vehicles meeting the EURO 6 standard and equipped with DPF exhaust aftertreatment systems. It will be used in diesel truck engines and heavy equipment. A high viscosity index of 146 ensures high oil film durability, allowing ULTOR EFFECTIVE 5W-20 to protect the engine in the harshest operating conditions. Additives used in the oil production process ensure engine cleanliness and ensure the oil retains its properties and performance parameters over the long term. It's worth mentioning the low HTHS coefficient of 2.7 mPA, a key indicator directly responsible for fuel efficiency, which translates into lower fuel consumption. The benefits of using ULTOR EFFECTIVE 5W-20 translate into extended drain intervals, easier starting at low temperatures, and reduced fuel consumption.
